Hope everyone is enjoying the Woot-Off and anticipating a BOC or something new from shirt.woot. Just want to keep you guys updated on 2.0. We are still fixing bugs and updating the program so it may or may not be released before the end of the Woot-Off. Please keep in mind, the current version is very buggy, it is BETA and has never been tested in a Woot-Off before.

We are working extremely long and hard to add multiple features, fix bugs, and speed up the program as a whole. We appreciate all the bug reports and errors you guys have been sending us, you’ve all been a tremendous help.

The SMS and IM is not running this Woot-Off. We ran into some errors and decided to focus all our attention on the actual program rather than the SMS and IM functions. If you entered your phone number in the box at the top of the page, no worries, you won’t be receiving any text messages from us. At the conclusion of the Woot-Off we will clear all the numbers from our system so no need to email us to ask us to remove your number. The next Woot-Off (August most likely) expect WootAgent to be 100% functional, the Application should be bug free and working quite well, and the SMS and IM functions will be running full force. Enjoy the remainder of the Woot-Off and thanks again for all your continuous support.

We’ll admit, this Woot-Off was more of a trial and error for us as we tested out our IM and SMS service, and continued working on WootAgent V2.0. While we had many angry users who could not get the services properly working, they were and still are in BETA, we sincerely apologize.

On a lighter note, we have many exciting updates. The IM and SMS service are nearly flawless and should be ready to go 100% during the next Woot-Off. If you would like to have yourself removed from the SMS service, simply send us an email with your cell # and you will be removed from the list. We are still working on a feature that will let you automatically remove yourself from the list.

WootAgent Version 2.0 will be available before the next Woot-Off (we hope). We are still fixing it up and are extremely hesitant to release it because we want it to be perfect for our users. The newer version will be sleeker, faster and it will have a better option menu and have wine.woot integration.

Lastly, we have made a few site updates. Advertisements have been placed throughout the site in order to keep the development of WootAgent moving along. Please keep in mind WootAgent is a self-funded program. The money we receive goes towards developing all these features for our users and paying for hosting. We have also added a “ReviewMe” option on the blog. We intend to review anyone who approaches us with a website related to: Woot, technology, and electronics. Why are we doing this? In the coming weeks WootAgent is going to be expanding outside of the “Woot” world and tapping into several other markets, so now would be a good time to get a head start.

WootAgent has added another feature to the site: Darkstar’s woot!-off checker. This is a web based auto checker (no refreshing required) which takes the load of Woot.com’s servers. The constant refreshing of Woot’s homepage is what causes the site to become very slow and even crash.

Also, we’ve been receiving many complaints that the IM/SMS features aren’t working. To be quite honest, this isn’t a solid Woot-off for us because we are in the process of finishing up Version 2.0 of WootAgent, while at the same time Beta testing the IM and SMS features. Keep in mind these are BETA tests so it is not 100% functional. It may appear to be functional for some time, but we are constantly pulling down the service to fix errors/bugs and then putting it back up for testing.
