What is Woot?

Woot.com is an online store that sells items for cheap. One item is sold every day until it is sold out, or until 11:59pm central time. To learn more about what Woot is, you can visit their website and read their FAQ.

What is WootAgent?

WootAgent is a program designed for the Windows users in the Woot community (Mac users will hopefully get one in the near future) who want a quick and helpful reminder when a new product is available on www.woot.com, or when there is a Woot-off.

What does WootAgent do?

WootAgent conveniently sits in your system tray and will pop up on your screen to notify you when there is a new Woot item, a Woot item is running out, and when a Woot item is sold-out. The same criterion goes for a Woot-off.

Why is WootAgent better than online scripts or RSS feeds made for Woot?

Let’s imagine you’re busy at work and keeping a browser open to keep checking back on Woot would cut your productivity and be rather annoying. You’d have to make a mental note to keep checking back every few minutes. WootAgent will pop up on your screen automatically and make a sound, so you KNOW Woot has come bearing gifts!

What advantage do I have over others if I use WootAgent?

The program responds lightening fast when a new item is posted on Woot, so there is no need to worry about missing any items. If you’re like us, sometime you forget to check on Woot a few days out of the month. One of WootAgent’s biggest reasons for being made was to help us not miss any more great deals!

I’m receiving errors while using WootAgent, what should I do?

Please visit the website and submit an error report form through our support page. This will help us figure out what the error is, and patch it up.

The “w!” icon turned gray in the system tray, what is going on?

The “w!” icon has either turned gray because you are having internet connection problems and the program is having trouble connecting with Woot, or the Woot servers are down and the program cannot gather info from them. Don’t worry though, as soon as the program gains a connection, it will turn green again to let you know it is running.

How do I change the default sounds for each notification?

Right click on the “w!” icon in your system tray and go to options. From the menu you can browse your computer and select which sounds you want to use for each notification.
