It’s been 2 hours since the Woot-Off has started and we’ve received a ton of feedback already. PLEASE keep in mind that this is a beta version of 2.0 and it has not been tested in a Woot-off yet (this is its very first one).
If you have already installed WootAgent 2.0, please uninstall it by removing all the files on your computer. Then re-download it off the site. I’ll post back tomorrow when we have another update.

I don’t really understand what’s going on with 2.0. Nothing installs when I click the exe, it just runs from the folder I extracted on my desktop. Then everything’s all huge, and the text falls off of the graphics. Let me know if you want a screen shot.

I downloaded and unzipped but when i click the .exe file i get “the application failed to initialize properly”. did i screw something up??

Sarah, I found the same. I instead just unzipped it into its own folder, Moved that folder to Program Files, and ran it from there. It seems to work better that way.

I’m sorry, but this software really blows.
It’s a memory hog, using 50MB.
The sounds don’t work, even after changing the settings a few times. To make it completely useless, the percentage of items left doesn’t show up on the main window, but only on the system tray icon’s tooltip.
And to top it off, it hangs on load right now, I assume due to my changing the settings.
Delete, delete, delete!
People who can’t program shouldn’t!

Keep in mind this is a BETA version of WootAgent 2.0. It has not been tested in a Woot-Off ever, so there are bound to be tons of bugs.

doesn’t work

Hey guys, its jon the developer, let me address some issues. this program needs .net 2.0 to run. the Failure to Initialize could be because you dont have .Net installed. Also, the program DOES NOT use 50 mb of memory. With a .Net application, you cannot view the memory usage from the Task manager, this is wrong. We tested the application extensively and i, i repeat, DOES NOT use 50 mb of memory.

Mark,
Thanks! It does seem to work better that way. Now the only bug I’m getting is that it doesn’t play the woot-off sound, it instead is playing the new woot sound.

Maybe it’s just me but this new version does not pop up on a new Woot. I can click the wootagent icon and see what the current Woot is but no popup on a new one. Anyone else?

I have also noticed that it doesn’t toast-up the latest Woot… which is really the whole point. Hope you’re able to fix this soon, I love WootAgent!

Why don’t you whiners come up some money for these guys.
You act liked you paid for the software. They said it was Beta and had never been in a wootoff. Bunch of whiny little bitches.
